About the First Step Test
The First Step Test is based on the Canadian Problem Gambling Index (CPGI), which is an internationally recognised instrument for measuring problem gambling in general populations.
The questions on the First Step Test represent the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI) component of the CPGI. The PGSI enables classification of gamblers into sub-types.
