Peer Connection Program
The Peer Connection Program provides free, confidential and anonymous over-the-phone support from volunteers who have successfully dealt with their own gambling problem, or have worked through the impact of someone else’s gambling problem.
If you or your partner or family member are experiencing gambling problems you can call to be assessed and matched with an appropriate volunteer.
The Peer Connection volunteer:
- Will listen and be supportive
- Can provide information and encouragement
- Can help you explore options and ideas
- Can support you through the hard times and towards achieving your goals
The volunteer can call weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on your needs. Where possible, you will be contacted by the same volunteer throughout your contact with the service. Volunteers receive comprehensive training, supervision and ongoing support.
Please note, this service is not for people in immediate crisis and does not replace the existing Gambler’s Helpline 24-hour service.
